Putting an impression together for the newcomer can be very confusing.  If
you are new to the hobby, just bought a military vehicle and want the clothing
to go with it, or are doing a movie, stage or film project and want to get it
right, The Well Dressed GI consulting is the service to help you.

Plowing through the research and the marketplace can be very confusing,
and making a wrong purchase can cost you hundreds of dollars and leave
you gear that is unusable.  Getting all the references can also cost a small
fortune.  The service I provide leaves the leg work to me and you end up with
a series of recommendations that may end up saving you significantly more
than the cost of my service.
A basic impression consultation costs $25 for a
dress or combat uniform.

As for my experience, I purchased my first piece of militaria in 1980, and
joined reenacting in 1983.  I reenacted as a GI until 1984 and then I
participated as a German until 2000.  I then started my own reenacting group
in 2002 and it has grown to over 30 members.  I have warn impressions of
US Infantry, Airborne, and Air Corps, and researched the US Women's
impressions extensively.  On the Axis side I have worn Heer and
Fallschirmjager, and also researched the female Helferin impression.  I have
also reenacted Brit and Russian at different events.  There aren't many
impressions I am not familiar with or know where to get the correct
information regarding the specifics.

I also possess an extensive library with over 600 titles, with approximately
150 being WWII uniform and vehicle reference books.  The topics are varied,
and in most cases I probably have something on what you are wanting.  If it is
a WWII impression, I can steer you in the right direction regardless of country
or time period during the war.

How it works...once you provide your basic interests to me, I will then give
you a quote for the consult.  The fee can vary based upon the complexity of
the impression.  Once I receive all the basic information, I will research and
compile the information in a document with recommended sources for getting
your gear.  I am not affiliated with any spefific vendor besides my company,
so I will steer you towards the best quality deals in the marketplace.  You can
then use your consultation document as your guide to putting your
impression together.  The consult requires approximately one week in most
circumstances, and a time line will be provided during the initial consultation
contacts.

This does not mean I will purchase your gear for you.  You will have to work
directly with the vendors on your purchases due to issues of sizing, refunds,
etc.  I will continue to consult with you until your desired and contracted
impression is complete.  If problems develop with vendors, I will also provide
advise on how to resolve the problems.

T
his is a new and exclusive service of the Well Dressed GI, and I am sure
many more will attempt to copy it in the future.  Service is the name of the
game here.  For more information on this service, contact
